FEMTECH & INNOVATION

As a woman living with an autoimmune disorder, I leveraged an academic opportunity at Savannah College of Art & Design to design a product that redefines Women's Wellness through integrated technology and design innovation development.

GOALS

Identifying an Innovation Opportunity
Analyzed emerging trends in biohacking and wearable technology to discover a unique opportunity for a digital wellness product.

User Research and Deep Driver Analysis
Conducted in-depth quantitative and qualitative research to uncover pain points and value systems among women of diverse ages and lifestyles.

Prototyping an Innovative Product
Designed and prototyped PYNK, an integrated digital platform that adds holistic value to women's wellness journeys.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Why biohacking?

$61.3 Billion earned by the global wearable technology market in the year 2022-2023.

$11 Billion funded by the NIH in 2021 towards genetic science and nutrigenomics.

Grinders are pioneers embedding microchips into their bodies to enhance wellness and health.

Biohacking, or human augmentation, is a rapidly growing field focused on improving performance, health, and well-being through strategic biological interventions.

RESEARCH & DISCOVERY

What Factors Affect Women’s Wellbeing?

Through surveys, purposeful interviews and sensory cue exercises involving 200 women, we identified key challenges they face in maintaining their health.

We studied lifestyles of women in phases of transition. Young graduates or aspiring achievers, mindful mothers-to be, and enterprising executives.

Deep insights revealed the fragmented nature of wellness technology, especially concerning women’s well-being, and inspired the creation of a unified solution.

THE COMPETITION

Who Might Inspire Us to Do Better?

We examined leading apps in four wellness domains to understand existing gaps and opportunities.

Emotional Wellness
Mindfulness and meditation apps offering guided yoga, mood tracking, and stress reduction tools.

Physical Fitness
Wearables and fitness platforms focused on tracking physical activity, heart rate, and workout routines.

Menstrual Health
Apps addressing menstrual tracking, fertility, menstrual and endocrine function, and hormonal health.

Nutrition
Solutions for dietary management, personalized nutrition plans, and weight tracking.

This competitive analysis shaped our vision to create an integrated platform that addresses wellness holistically.
